Welcome to the North County Chapter of the SDWAC
The North County Chapter (NCC) of the San Diego World Affairs Council (SDWAC) was formed to promote public interest in, and to encourage and facilitate, the study of foreign policy and international affairs. The NCC takes no stand on any public issue, policy or candidate. It encourages free, fair and civil discussion of a wide range of topics at the Thursday Morning Forums held throughout the year.
In addition to being part of SDWAC, NCC is part of a national organization, the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA).
The Section, About NCC, provides some insights about the history and evolution of these three organizations (WACA, SDWAC and NCC) along with links to more extensive information.
A side benefit of the NCC, but a very important one for its members, is that its approach to achieving the goal brings together people of common interests, but very different backgrounds, on a weekly basis for civilized discourse in a pleasant environment. It does this by organizing an extensive array of programs at which knowledgeable speakers present their insights and then respond to questions from the audience. The Section, NCC Programs, discusses this in more detail and provides a sense of the broad range of subjects covered and the techniques used to promote probing, but civilized, explorations of these topics.
Finally, the Section, NCC Membership, describes how one can join this organization and partake of the benefits it offers.
